Uttu - the goddess of the Sun

Before the advent of Judaism, Christianity and Islam to Tigray, she had its own indigenous polytheist religions:

May the Uttu, the goddess of Sun destroy all the evil forces whom they set their feet on the land.

Uttu was a Mesopotamian goddess of Sumerian origin. She was associated with weaving. She appears in multiple myths, such as Enki and Ninhursag and Enki and the World Order.

UTTU - The Sumerian spider goddess. She was the patroness of weavers, weaving and clothing, daughter of Enki and Ninkurra. She is best known for her role in the myth Enki and Ninhursag in which she complains to the mother goddess about Enki's neglect and is told to wipe his seed from her body, thus fertilizing the earth and giving birth to the first plants and trees.
